About

restless heart was created out of the conviction that faith cannot remain silent —
and that it also cannot be reduced to formulas.

The Catholic faith speaks of truth, meaning, love, and hope.
These are not abstract ideas.
They shape lives — and they raise questions.

Many people who believe carry questions just as deeply as those who doubt.
And many who no longer believe still feel drawn to conversations about faith.

This space exists because faith deserves to be spoken, examined, and shared — in word and in life.

A Catholic foundation

restless heart is explicitly rooted in the Catholic Christian tradition.

It takes seriously the conviction that faith is not only lived in private,
but also expressed in words, in dialogue, and in witness.

The Catholic faith is not afraid of questions.
It has always grown through conversation, reflection, and engagement with the world.

This project understands discussion not as a threat to belief,
but as one of its essential expressions.

Augustine of Hippo

Augustine of Hippo and the restless heart

The name restless heart is inspired by Augustine of Hippo,
who famously described the human heart as restless until it finds its rest in God.

For Augustine, faith and reason were never enemies.
Belief was not opposed to thinking, and questions were not signs of weakness,
but of a heart that takes truth seriously.

This Augustinian spirit shapes the tone of these conversations:
thoughtful, honest, faithful, and open.

Ecclesial context

I am a novice member of the Third Order of the Augustinians
(Province of St. Thomas of Villanova), preparing for promises and vows.

The Augustinian Third Order stands within the Catholic Church as a lay vocation,
shaped by community, prayer, study, and apostolic engagement in the world.

This affiliation is not a title, but a commitment: to live the faith consciously, to deepen it through study and reflection and to share it responsibly.

Who this space is for

This space is open to all —
but it gives particular room to those who believe and wish to speak about their faith without simplification or slogans.

It welcomes:

  • Catholics who want to reflect more deeply on their faith

  • Christians who value honest dialogue

  • seekers, doubters, and those who listen with curiosity and respect

Participation does not require agreement.
It does require openness to conversation.

What happens here

restless heart offers conversation evenings and talks on themes such as:
faith, meaning, restlessness, Scripture, tradition, history, and science.

Faith is witnessed, not imposed.
Questions are invited, not dismissed.
